Arma3Sync may appear slow to start with whilst it processes the hundreds of tiny small file updates with signatures. We have removed all weapons of high calibre excluding bolt action snipers, and any magazines higher than 30 rounds for 5.56, some 6.8's such as the M16A6 and M4A6 remain, and the Blackjack .300 remains too, our intention is to move back to 3.0 combat style. The weapons that are currently in circulation will be the last remaining ones. We have lowered the cost of crafting SOST by 50 percent, and added SOST to SWAT only weapon shop. As part of the transition back to 3.0 combat style: Added back group hexes. Added an automatic crafting machine upgrade to the warehouse, craft items, leave your warehouse, and come back later to collect the goods, do not leave it over restart.   3. Welp. Okay. Brutally honest time. This has been done before and it flopped badly of which resulted in Anzus player base dropping considerably in 4.0. This feels like a re-run of previous mistakes. 25k for a class 3 is ridiculous you’ll be doing a Knox and a payout will only just cover the class 3 you used if your lucky. Nevermind other majors won’t cover the cost of a class 3. Conflict will completely die off if this becomes a thing so all the hard work you’ve put into conflict will be thrown out the window so if this becomes a thing you might as well remove conflict with it. Not to mention the fact that people grew to hate crafters only for class 3s cause crafters could never keep up with the demand of the players wanting constant class 3s. It just doesn’t work. If crafters are offline and player has no class 3 they don’t want to play because they can’t get a class 3 to use or have to pay a ridiculous amount for a class 3 which won’t happen and will drive players away. Not all people want to have to constantly contact crafters for class 3s. Anzus already has so many massive money sinks, don’t make another one. Majority of people in 4.0 grew to hate SMGs and Pistols only in shops so don’t repeat that again. I’m all for low tier class 3s being in shops for a reasonable price and higher tier being crafting but anything less than that is a big no from me. Overall I feel Option 3 is the best one for Anzus as a whole and the longevity of Anzus alongside keeping the player base happy.

  4. People constantly say "2.0 was better" and "3.0 was better", I think a lot of it comes down to a different time and different people but I am not against trying new things. This weekend starting Friday at the pre-peak restart the following things will be trialled. Removed/changed for the weekend All cop response numbers to major crimes, minor crimes, any situation are removed from the rules. It will be up to PD command to decide how/what they want with the idea of fairness in mind. No limit on groups, you can be in a group more than 8 during all initiations. (LEO AND CIV) You do not need a roleplay reason to rob people doing illegal runs. You do not need a roleplay reason to initiate on someone except 500m from a green zone. Elk city will be made into a green zone. (Meaning no combat, robbing or anything at all) Before joining the server take a spoonful of concrete and harden the fuck up. Any sort of karen/complain RP will be an instant ban for the rest of the weekend. You can still have good RP with this ruleset. Play situations out and deal with it OFF the server. Ingame features removed for the weekend Restriction on reviving people you've killed Everything will pay out clean money including majors, minors everything To save us from the fragging kids getting out of control anyone who is a problem player over this time and can't handle themselves on the new rules will have to sit out for the weekend as well. For anyone who is looking to complain "WAAH WAAH COPS ARE GOING TO RESPOND 20 DEEP." On 2.0 this was how it was, some situations there were 12 cops and 3 gang members, some situations there were 12 gang members and 3 cops. It is just how it goes If there are any other rules people want for the weekend please post them here and they will be added based on their +1 to -1 ratio. Please use the (CTRG) ones so peoples reputation doesn't get effected. Official gangs are still expected to follow this Note this is just a trial, don't be upset with what is here. Non of it is in stone its just trying new things. If you don't like it, just take the weekend off.

Hey everyone I hope you enjoyed the 6.0 trailer, the development team and I have been working vigorously the past 1.5 months some of us upto 12 hours a day to produce the best update we possibly can. Also massive thanks to the testers who helped test this update, several of them have put 20+ hours into testing each over the past few weeks as well. Here is the plan for release: Character Creation Day/Modpack release - 30/12/2022 at 8PM GMT (Click here to convert it to your time) Official Release Day - 1/01/2023 at (8PM GMT (Click to convert to your time) We are very confident on this release date, obviously there can be unforeseen issues but we're set on this date. Ideally we show the 6.0 trailer before Christmas and release close after that, but I can't promise anything yet I want to set a realistic release date with 0 delays. We will have a character creation day the day before release which will allow you to join the server, gangs to create their gangs, cops to get whitelisted. We will also be doing a "Test hour" where we get as many people on as possible and you sit in your apartment and you will be rewarded x2 starting money for just standing there AFK. This just allows us to do a networking test with players on the server. I do want to have a Takistan gang wars but not sure if having one on Christmas Eve would work, Maybe Friday let me know in the comments what you think. Please give a big and thank you to the developers. We've been working our asses off to make this update great. It is an absolute banger so I hope you're all excited.

  10. Hey everyone, I just wanted to make this thread to let everyone know our plans this year. There is a lot of talk about FiveM and what that means for ARMA 3 so I wanted to make a thread to make it clear what the plan is. 6.3 is planned to come out around 1st of April 6.4 is planned to come out around 6th of May FiveM is planned to come out late June FiveM will be whitelisted only and is serious 18+ RP People with a history of rule breaks on ANZUS will not be accepted on whitelist The development team of FiveM is currently 80% new developers so the ARMA development team will not be greatly affected once it is released. Some developers will do both, some will do one or the other. Out of our 25 active developers, 4 of them are FiveM only developers, 5 of them are both ARMA and FiveM, the rest are ARMA only just to put it into perspective. Expressions of interest for Staff, PD and EMS will be put out in May. Takistan Popup is planned to come out around 1st of July for 2 weeks 6.5 Florida Life is planned to come out around 15th of July Updates after this will be planned with 1 month apart in mind, exactly the same as how we've done things before 6.5 and FiveM have been released. If there is any concern about ARMA 3, you are not to worry. It will still be developed, it will still be focused on. We have already started development of the 7.0 map and money has been paid to developers working on it so its locked in. You can be assured we're committed to making sure ARMA 3 is given the attention it deserves to thrive. Hey everyone, I just wanted to give an official update on where we are with 6.5. 6.5 Update The developer working on the large building is not quite finished, testing has been going really well and we're very happy with where 6.5 is at. Once this building is delivered to us we will take a few days to film it for the trailer and script the functionality for the building. The time frame the developer gave me was 1-1.5 weeks and that was 6 days ago, so fingers crossed that next Wednesday we get the building which will give us enough time to film and get it ready for a gang wars event on that Saturday. Do not set this in stone as this developer has pushed it back about 10 times now but I am hopeful I have seen the progress screenshots and it's definitely close. Mass Unban The anti-cheat isn't quite set up yet, We've had some timezone issues with the developers of the anti-cheat but it will be ready for 6.5, if it's not ready we will be doing the mass unban regardless and the staff team will heavily monitoring returning players. Please inform everyone you possibly can about the mass unban as we want 6.5 to be a hit. We want to bring it back to the 3.0 vibes and give everyone a chance to be there. Note: We have unbanned everyone in Discord already, so they can join up and keep updated through there. Thank you for all being patient, We've been in worse positions before and the people who have been here long enough know we will come out on top within the next month, I have a YouTuber lined up to make 3 videos on 6.5 to help with marketing and I want to assure everyone the staff team and development team are dedicated to keeping the ARMA server flourishing. Gas Station EDIT: Suggestions to zone such as fences being changed to walls to disallow bullet pen and more cover towards the middle so its not as open. Screenshots/media: Details: The goal of this zone is to be something different than all other zones we are used to. Currently I believe like 3 or 4 of the zones are just woodpiles which is cool but boring when that's all you are fighting on is piles of wood. My goal was to make a map that everyone knows and holds dear to their heart. I attempted (Arma 3 assets allowing) to make a Arma 3 edition of Nuketown. This is ANZUSTOWN 2035. I have added a few of the same sightlines as the original Nuketown but changed up and added a lot more to work better with Arma combat. I have added many ways to peek over fences with objects that will be climbable. I have added stairs leading to the tops of the garages for additional sightlines for either oncoming cars or across the zone. This also adds the ability to parkour to different spots. Unlike in Nuketown the house in the back that is inaccessible now has a scaffolding leading to the top for a new angle over the zone. I have also added the addition of 3 ramps for different ways to slam (Because who doesn't love ramping their karuma off a ramp and flying into the zone) @Kaladin Sulzberger. Although it looks as if a lot of the zone is walled off with fences, each angle is accessible in some way whether that be by ramp, scaffold, vault, or an opening. So there is no opportunity to camp one single entrance. I think this would make a great addition to the conflict zone, however with this unique idea I think it would be an interesting addition or replacement for a capture zone as well.   23. Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce that we will be releasing 5.0 on the 29th of December at 10PM GMT. On the 28th at 10PM GMT we will be doing a character creation session. Where we will open the 5.0 server for the first time with 125 slots. You will be able to create your character with our new custom character creation system but you will not be able to leave your apartment. We will then do some final testing for every single faction, every single whitelisting etc to make sure all the shops and all the small things are complete and bugless. We will then release 5.0 fully to the public on the 29th at 10PM GMT. We are pretty confident on this date. We could of probably released on the 24th if we wanted but we want to be 100% confident in the testing and as little bugs as possible. Please give your thanks to the development team, I know I saw this a lot but genuinely they've been grinding for countless amounts of hours for you guys to enjoy a great update.   25. Howdy, I’ll put my 10 cents in on the matter. As someone who plays both Cop and Civ. I’m all for the return of class 3s and option 3 - cheap access to class 3s. Firstly, I don’t really think the increase in price of guns is actually a good thing for the server or for server pop. - I guarantee people (cops and civs) are just going to get Zerg robbed by other civs for even carrying class 3s since at 15-25k a pop they are worth even more than someone’s Fort Knox or major crime cut. - People would be even more upset when losing a class 3 fight if they feel that it didn’t go fairly if they are losing 25k or even 10k when they die during a gunfight. This will fuel toxicity and just poor engagement with players after a situation is concluded. One of the chill things about class 1s is that it’s low risk low reward meaning that people are actually chill to talk to regardless of whether you win or lose a situation. This is something I want to see continue. - Expensive class 3s will also encourage roach gameplay because civs will be incredibly worried about losing a kit to a situation, and everyone hates that and OP holds. - A lack of class 3s will cause a continuation of long drawn out and stale combat that a lot of people are sick of at the moment - not everyone but based off discussion earlier this week. - I’m getting dejavu of what I’ve heard from 4.0 in that we’d be repeating previous mistakes which ultimately decimated server pop. As gang zones will become worthless, cartel won’t be played nor will cap zones as they risk someone losing a great deal of cash over the chance that someone is just roaching inside a red zone. People just won’t be bothered to take the risk. - people will grow to despise having only access to smgs and pistols in their shops and won’t see the point of even playing. Aside from gameplay, another issue I have with entirely relying on crafters is the wait time. I have no issue whatsoever buying from crafters, in fact, I often bought crafted guns but the wait on such an order would either take a week or two or just never come to Fruiting - as crafting enough guns to give an individual player a stable resource of equipment takes time and won’t be available for everyone on the server. I like crafting when you have to build a relation with a crafter or weapons dealer, giving you access to higher tier weapons - but this is where I think the market control over class 3s should not go beyond buying SOST guns or those 7.62+ rifles people are very keen to get their hands on. everyone should have a fair and equal access to regular 5.56 class 3s, 2s and 1s and it shouldn’t come at an expensive premium whether you’re a cop or a civ. As an AU player and much like our other AU brethren, we do not have the Timezone for us to access a lot of NA crafters as well or to be on at the same time - it’ll ultimately depend on who you know in order for you just to be able to buy a base kit and I doubt players are going to want to deal with that in my Timezone. Being AU one of the worst things ever is getting on to play on any NA/EU server and seeing 20 people on the server at 5pm in the evening. One of the great things is our server pop, and I hope that we can install class 3s fairly and at an affordable price so that people can continue to play and have fun on cop and on civ. Again, I’m all for option 3 - cheap class 3s - and I don’t want to see server pop die. We have something great here - a great map (I recon the best one we’ve ever had) and great mechanics to back it up.

Do not just type +1, give your actual thoughts I want to know everything people are thinking/feeling about this positive and negative. My opinion: A massive issue on ANZUS for a long time has been entitlement, for a long time the "2.0/3.0" ruleset was mentioned as an issue and I never really thought of it helping this issue. The problem with the old ruleset is people expect response numbers, so they get mad and complain. People expect cop response so they get mad and complain. Another thing is, I've always hated the fact some people get left out of situations... Another thing I've realized is that sometimes there will be 3 cops and 10 civilians and it will be "unfair numbers" but sometimes it will be 10 cops and 3 civs. It will happen, its better it happens this way and I hope people vote for it to stay. We will have this discussion thread, then a vote.

  27. Hey everyone, Many long term ANZUS people have requested us to do a mass unban for a while and we've decided to entertain the idea somewhat. I'll be the first to admit not every ban I've handed out was fair and I've learnt a lot of the years from mistakes like that. We've brought back a few members recently that have ended up really well and some of those people have moved onto SWAT and are valued/contributing members to the community. Do I think we need to do this? Probably not, I think 5.0 will carry the population on its own but some people deserve a chance. Not everyone is going to be unbanned, some people we just don't want in this community. Everyone who gets unbanned will be on probation upon unban and watch listed, the last thing we want to do is bring people back that will ruin the experience of any current players. It has been in discussion for a few weeks now amongst SLT+ and the development team. But we haven't come to a decision yet. This decision is a very difficult one because we know it will upset some people and we don't want to throw away what coastguard has as a group. Because the decision is hard we've decided to do a trial phase for this weekend, For this weekend only we will be merging CG into the LDSO 1:1 including spec ops. If you're a police officer that needs to meet his hour requirements you can do so on civilian for this weekend only. There will be announcement posted in the discords of the respective factions with more information. Conversion Rank Structure: Seaman Recruit - Cadet Seamen Apprentice - Prob. Deputy Seaman - Deputy Petty Officer - Senior Deputy Chief Petty Officer - Cpl SCPO - Sgt MCPO/LTJR - Lt Lt Commander - Captain Nick Boyd - Major Merge Discussion Information: If we do a merge a maritime and aviation division will be created, Nick Boyd will be the major and he will have 1 captain. Active spec-ops operators if able will be instated into the respective departments and guardsmen will have the option to transfer to patrol. Please give your thoughts after reading the pros/cons and any questions. All CG equipment would be given to the maritime/aviation division (vehicle/uniform wise) Capture points would be absorbed by spec-ops Maratime/Aviation would have priority at water events but equal on land like academy is to patrol PROS AND CONS Positives Guardsmen can patrol freely on land, they will count towards all Police numbers and overall have more to do. Development work can be focused on one faction instead of two. We are limited on good command members, CG has good command members that could fill PD command spots overtime. Police members that haven’t experienced Coastguard content get to experience it. Coast Guard members that haven’t experienced LDSO content get to experience it. More numbers overall for one group instead of splitting them into two Right now there are 32 cop slots and 15 CG slots, 47 LEO is way too many, to make it fair we would have to have at least 150 civilians on which isn’t possible. This isn’t including REA. Negatives Lots of effort has been put into coastguard from command, developers and management. To throw it all away would feel like a bit of a waste even though people still will enjoy the content. Police command slots are full, even though some guardsmen might be better potential command, it is unfair to move these people out to make way for CG. CG is built on comradery, there is a possibility this is gone if forced to mingle with the simple folk of LDSO. Multiple people will not want to do this and the last thing we want to do is upset people. Some may leave. Nick Boyd may leave. SMT are adamant about not having another specialized department so MSRT/CGIS would get disbanded. Coastguard is unique and brings people to ANZUS. AGAIN. THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE. THIS IS A TRIAL. PLEASE GIVE YOUR THOUGHTS PRE-TRIAL AND AFTER TRIAL IN ON THIS THREAD.
