Dependable, Alert, Cooperative, consistent How many hours a week can you dedicate to this department? 10-15 Why do you think you fit the role of a EMT? (150 words minimum): Real job outside of the island, I enjoy helping others. I'm also online during the later hours of the night when there usually isn't any EMS on and I would like to assist in changing that. I believe that I could be beneficial to the department due to real experience, and being on late at night. Good at communication. EMS needs good communication skills especially when it comes to mass casualty situations and knowing where to properly allocate resources. I am dependable. An EMT needs to be dependable on responses. You need to know where your going and what your going to do when you arrive. I can devote 10-15 hours a week to help the community as well as the department. I am a hardworking honest person who will work to assist everyone. EMS is one of the departments I've noticed on a lot of islands tend to struggle numbers wise, and I want to help change that here. What are your previous experiences with being in a FD/EMS? (If any): IRL Paramedic, and Volunteer Fire EvoRP, SFG, and 2 others. What makes a good EMT in your opinion? (150 words minimum): A good EMT is someone who is compassionate, attentive, dependable, and good communication. EMT's talk to people from all walks of life which is where compassion comes in. Your going to get people who are having a bad day mentally, ranging all the way to the worst day of their life due to physical injuries. EMS is expected to remain calm no matter what the situation is. EMS personnel need to be attentive. Every decision you make matters and people depend on you to make the correct decision. Dependable. You need to be dependable because you are expected to show when someone is down and needs help. They rely on you. Without dependability that could change. Communication is key when it comes to EMS. From Mass Casualties all the way to a small accident. You need to communicate with others to ensure that everything is covered and resources are allocated correctly. Why should you be chosen over someone else? (100 words minimum): I believe I should be chosen because I think I have the qualities that a good EMT requires as I explained above. I can be dependable and be online to help others a couple days a week for a few hours. I enjoy EMS, and enjoy talking to others and helping them out. I am a quick learner and willing to learn more about the department and taking feedback from higher ups. I understand the chain of command and how to properly use it. I am a friendly person with a drive to help others and I think that is what an EMT needs and why I should be chosen.
